EARLY CHILDHOOD FAMILY EDUCATION

EARLY CHILDHOOD FAMILY EDUCATION

Early Childhood Family Education is a class for caregivers and children, ages birth to 5 years old (not started Kindergarten). ECFE works to support you as a parent/caregiver and to strengthen and empower families. The goal is to enhance the ability of all parents and other family members to provide the best possible environments for their child's learning and development. Our classes are led by a licensed Parent Educator and EC teacher who will engage you in a variety of activities together, promoting early childhood development and socialization.

Classes are held in our Little Rangers Family Center at Cuyuna Range Elementary School throughout the school year.

We are currently offering classes on Monday evenings from 5:00-6:30pm in two 10 class sessions. We will also be serving a “boxed lunch” style meal at every class.

Fall Session: September 23rd - November 25th (FULL - Registration Closed)

Spring Session: February 3rd - April 14th (Click to register now.)

The sessions are offered on a sliding scale fee based on household income.

EARLY CHILDHOOD SPECIAL EDUCATION

Early Childhood Special Education is a program that provides early intervention and preschool special education to young children, age birth to Kindergarten, who show developmental delays in the general areas of speech and language, large and fine motor skills, social and emotional behavior, cognitive and/or adaptive skills, or have vision or hearing loss.

After a child receives a formal evaluation to identify specific needs, trained ECSE teachers and specialists will work with the caregivers and child to develop his/her greatest potential.

From birth to age three, these Special Education services are delivered to the child primarily in his/her home or child care center. From age three to Kindergarten, children receive these services in our Early Childhood programming at CRES.

If you have concerns about your child's development at any stage in their early years, you can refer them for a developmental screening or evaluation called a “Help Me Grow” referral. Our ECSE staff follow up on these referrals to schedule an assessment.
