In Technology & Innovation, 6th graders created and coded games similar to Crossy Road but we used a penguin instead of the chicken and penguins in bobsleds instead of cars. The goal was to make it across the ice to get to the ocean while avoiding all of the moving bobsleds! The students used code in Scratch to program the game. The best part of projects like these are to see the students customize and make changes to the code in the game to make it more challenging and entertaining.

Eighth grade students visited the Mille Lacs Indian Museum on February 27th to extend their learning related to their American Indian book club unit in English 8 class. While at the museum, students had interactive experiences learning about Ojibwe history and culture. Students visited the Four Seasons room, learned Ojibwe words, shopped at the trading post, played traditional games, went on a scavenger hunt, and learned about treaties. Thank you to the Cuyuna Lakes Education Foundation (CLEF) for sponsoring the trip! Thank you to the Minnesota Historical Society and the Mille Lacs Indian Museum staff for hosting C-I!
