Gavin Lacy, a student in Mr. Schafbuch's welding class, took up the challenge and successfully Tig welded two razor blades together. The blades are 0.008 inch thick, essentially the thickness of two sheets of paper.
TIG welding is best for delicate applications and thin materials because it offers greater control and precision and produces cleaner welds with less spatter. #GoCIGo
Our Senior Spotlight of the day goes to, Annabelle Godfrey! Congratulations, Annabelle! Your future is bright, and we are cheering you on every step of the way! #SeniorSpotlight #ClassOf2024
Kindergarten visited the Crosslake Army Corps of Engineers Campground last week for their field trip. They learned about how the dam works, went on a bug scavenger hunt, learned about the life cycle of a dragonfly (did you know dragonflies could attack and eat a fish?), and had a lesson on the importance of water safety. Huge shout-out to the Park Rangers for all they did to make our visit so enjoyable!!
Our Senior Spotlight of the day goes to, James Lubovich! Congratulations, James! Your future is bright, and we are cheering you on every step of the way! #SeniorSpotlight #ClassOf2024
On May 8th, SALT students put on Walk to HOPE, a charity walk that benefited Healing Opportunity Provided Equally(H.O.P.E.). H.O.P.E. is a local non-profit organization located in Aitkin, MN, that helps individuals and families around the area escape domestic violence and get back on their feet after the difficult period. SALT students hoped to have at least fifty participants and raise $1,000 during the second year this event has been organized. Instead, SALT students had 165 participants, and raised $2,300 for HOPE! Students worked hard finding sponsors, marketing the event, and organizing all the logistics. We are so proud! Thank you to all who participated and made the event such a success💜
