The Service Action Leadership Team (SALT) did some clean up of the Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area yesterday. Thank you for doing the dirty work so everyone can enjoy the beauty of the Cuyuna Lakes!
Senior Spotlight of the Day is, Colten Daraitis!
As an MCA reward, the 3rd-grade students at CRES were able to have donuts with Mr. Becker. As an extra bonus, Mr. Becker played fun songs on his guitar and everyone sang along! It was a room full of smiling faces!
Six 7th/8th grade Student Council members traveled to Pequot Lakes Middle School for a Middle School Leadership Conference. There were 5 other schools in attendance. C-I students collaborated with other Student Councils to brainstorm what makes a good leader, gather ideas about effective service projects, and analyze their own leadership styles.

Yesterday, our Service Action Leadership Team (SALT) took a brief walk to the Crosby Memorial Park to plant a tree!
Mr. Lang worked with 3rd graders to get them geared up for some bike lessons. Students worked on the ABC Quick check to make sure their bikes were ready to ride.
A - Air
B - Brakes
C- Chain
Quick - Quick Release or bolts on tires
Check - Check the bike for any loose parts
They also worked on helmet fitting - 2,2,and 2
2 - Only 2 fingers should fit between your eyebrows and the bottom of the helmet.
2 - 2 straps making a V around your ears.
2 - 2 fingers fitting in between the chin strap and your chin.
Some students worked on the power pedal.
- Power pedal allows the strongest possible pedal stroke to propel your bike forward from a stop.
Other students were working on the neutral position on their bike which gave them balance and control on the bike.

Here are the winners of Culinary Arts 1 Golden Spatula Competition for Weeks 1 and 2! Sarah and Summer created a creative and flavorful avocado toast to win the best breakfast competition. Angel and Hailey baked rich and delicious brownies for the dessert competition!

Who wants a donut? These 10th graders in Ms. Abfalter's English class do! They got to take a walk to MacDaddy's Donut Garage and enjoy their delicious selection of donuts, pastries and more!

Unified Special Olympics was in Pillager yesterday for Track and Field. Athletes and partners participated in running, throwing and other stations together. They were unable to participate in Unified Relays due to the weather. Great job to you all!
