We had many community members and parents join the 10th graders as they embarked on a journey to remember, reflect, and educate. Our students have poured their hearts into this meaningful project, aiming to honor the resilience of those who endured unimaginable hardships during one of history's darkest chapters, The Holocaust.
🌟 Highlights:
**Thought-provoking Displays: Dive into the individual exhibits that capture the stories and experiences of Holocaust survivors and non-survivors.
** Student Artwork: Witness the creativity of our talented 10th graders as they express their emotions and reflections through art.
Thank you for coming together as a community to remember, learn, and ensure that the lessons from the Holocaust are never forgotten. Your presence makes a difference! 🌍🤝 #HolocaustExhibit #EducationMatters #NeverForget
C-I S.A.L.T. (service action leadership team) members prepared around 60 meals for Lakes Area community members at the Sharing Bread Soup Kitchen in Brainerd on December 19th. On December 15th, a small group of Human Biology students attended a Health Career Fair hosted by Essential Health at St. Joseph Hospital in Brainerd. They were able to participate in hands-on activities while talking to a variety of professionals in the Health Career Field. They were given a tour of the Emergency Department and the Cardiology floor, as well as having their lunch provided. Each student agreed that they learned a lot, enjoyed the experience, and connected with a wide range of healthcare providers. This is a wonderful example of an experiential learning opportunity for our Health and Human Services Ranger Career Pathway.

Last week was a busy one in Geography! 8th graders have been learning about European Culture. They specifically enjoyed hearing about “Tea Time” that Miss McDonald experienced during her time abroad. So to bring a piece of the British Isle's to C-I, they enjoyed a morning tea break during class. Students had the opportunity to try tea and cookies that would typically be found during a morning tea break in Ireland and the U.K.
Needs some ideas of what to do over break? Take a peek at our list!
Brayan Quintana and Jhon Marchan, Custodians at Crosby-Ironton High School, visited Molly McDonald's 8th-grade Geography classes to share about life in Venezuela. Students enjoyed Venezuelan desserts and candy, including Dulce de Lechosa (Candied Papaya) and Quesillo. The students thought the cinnamon-clove spiced Dulce de Lechosa tasted like "Christmas!"

3rd graders presented what they have been learning in Music, Physical Education, and Technology and Innovation class at their STEAM Expo. The theme of the expo was Moving Pictures. This theme was chosen based on what the students are reading, at the time from their reading curriculum. The Music performance included students singing, playing instruments, and bucket drumming with glow in the dark drumsticks! During the Physical Education portion, students showed off the basketball skills they have been working on during a glow in the dark basketball show! Lastly, for the Technology & Innovation portion, students demonstrated their digital media production skills as they made stop motion videos with their families.
